A Night to Remember: Catering a Very Special Wedding

When two of our own get married, we knew that one amazing wedding was in store—and we weren’t kidding. 2019 kicked off with friends and family gathering at Saint Joseph Cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge to witness the union of these two very special people. After shedding a few tears at a beautifully touching ceremony, the wedding party, in true Louisiana style, second-lined over to the Capitol Park Museum, marching to the rhythms of The Tip Tops from Mobile, Alabama.

What greeted guests at the reception was nothing less than spectacular. Thanks to the collaboration, creativity, and talents offered by Abstract Productions, Capitol Park Events, B&B Staff-Tenders, Laura Welch Taylor: Art, Truly Haute Candles, August Events, KBCook Weddings, Ice Dragon Ice Sculptures, Lance Hayes Flowers, Ambrosia Bakery, and the Capitol Park Museum, the evening was a truly magical experience we’ll never forget.

From the ice sculptures to the table settings, from the vibrant lighting to the stunning flowers, the elegant, thoughtful, and welcoming details were perfect for every “dearly beloved” in attendance. And, of course, there’s the food. Simply some of the best we’ve ever created for two people that mean the world to us.

Weddings are a time for family, friends, fun, and food. All were present at this amazing event—in abundance. The passed hors d’oeuvres, the display spreads, and the exquisite ice bar brimmed with delicacies that guests simply couldn’t get enough of. Savory BLT Biscuit Sliders, succulent Fruit Displays, rich Smoked Salmon with all the perfect complements, Artisanal Cheese Boards, delectable and smoky Roasted Vegetable Crudité, peppery selections of the finest Charcuterie, an array of our signature Deviled Eggs, and an exquisitely carved ice bar loaded with the best Gulf Shrimp.

Spirits, Wine, and Beer flowed from the bar and guests marveled at the stunning Four-Tiered Wedding Cake. Guests also chuckled at the whimsical Groom’s Cake, a perfect replica of a gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream’s new “Groom’s Cake” flavor—a nod to the ice cream aficionado groom.

We at Drakes raise our glasses to the bride, Taylor. She grew up in the Drakes “family” and it has been our privilege to watch her grow over the years into such an amazing woman. We
also raise our glasses to the groom, Wes, whom we have grown to love and respect over the last five years. To see these two wonderful souls find love and happiness with each other, and to
commit to a lifetime of cherishing and caring for each other, has us smiling with our hearts.

What a wonderful wedding.

What a wonderful evening.

What a wonderful couple.

Cheers today…

…and forever more.
